Remember DIY, an online community for kids who love to build and make? They've just launched a series of videos introducing a few members of their community and the amazing things they're building. (Monster masks! Homemade stomp rockets! A book with a secret compartment! Homemade snowshoes!)
This particular video features three brothers who all love to create new things, share their projects, and interact with other kids who are on DIY. I admit I got a little teary watching this—you can see just how excited these boys are about learning and building things with their hands. (You know I'm more than a little invested in the idea that everyone has the ability to be a creator.) I love DIY's purpose:
DIY is a community where young people become Makers. They discover new Skills, make projects in the real world, and share their work online to inspire and learn from each other. The big idea is that anyone can become anything just by trying—we all learn by doing.
